Position Overview
We are seeking a talented, experienced Food Technologist to join our team part-time, focusing on our Healthy Snacks and Specialty Foods line. This role requires a professional with 3-5 years of experience in food technology, ideally within snack foods or specialty products. The Food Technologist will lead initiatives in product development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, contributing to a product line that champions both quality and sustainability. Working closely with our Production and Quality Control teams, this individual will drive product innovations while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development and Formulation: Innovate and refine formulations for our Healthy Snacks and Specialty Foods range, using best practices in food technology to align with consumer trends, nutritional standards, and Duapa Agri’s sustainability goals.
- Food Safety and Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous safety protocols and quality control measures, ensuring full compliance with FDA, HACCP, ISO, and other applicable standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation to support regulatory audits and reviews, staying updated on industry standards and ensuring products meet all regional and international compliance requirements.
- Training and Team Collaboration: Partner with the Production and Quality Control teams, providing essential training and conducting regular quality reviews to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality production.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress updates, including key performance metrics to track product quality, safety, and compliance, and provide insights for ongoing product enhancements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a food technology role, preferably in snack foods or specialty products, with a track record of product formulation and quality control.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of regulatory standards, including FDA, HACCP, ISO, and experience with quality management systems.
- Proficiency in computer software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and collaboration tools such as Slack or Asana.
