Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales & Marketing Manager to spearhead the sales and marketing efforts for our Healthy Snacks and Specialty Foods division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, expanding our presence in major and specialty supermarkets across Ghana, and promoting our brand through both traditional and social media channels. This role also involves recruiting, training, and managing a team of lower-level sales and marketing staff to achieve set sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to establish and strengthen business relationships, ensuring our products are prominently placed in major supermarkets and specialty stores across Ghana.
  • Team Recruitment and Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of sales and marketing staff, fostering a high-performance, motivated work environment that supports individual and team success.
  • Market Penetration and Growth: Identify new opportunities for market penetration and develop targeted approaches to maximize product reach and sales performance.
  • Brand Promotion: Lead and oversee brand promotion strategies, leveraging both traditional media (print, radio, TV) and digital platforms (social media, online advertising) to increase product visibility and consumer engagement.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key supermarket chains, specialty retailers, and other distribution partners, ensuring consistent product availability and maximizing shelf presence.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Develop plans to achieve and exceed sales targets, driving revenue growth while maintaining profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with production, logistics, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive execution of sales strategies, product launches, and promotions.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track sales performance against established objectives, prepare detailed reports, and provide strategic recommendations to management based on data insights.
  • Training and Development: Design and implement training programs for the sales team to improve skills, product knowledge, and customer service standards.

Requirements, Key Skills, and Experience

  • Age and Physical Fitness: Candidates should be between 25-36 years old and physically fit to handle the demands of the role.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Sales, Distribution, Marketing, or related roles, with substantial experience in FMCG sales, particularly in packaged food and snacks.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Distribution, or related fields, with at least 2 years in field sales, strategy, or category management.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience in recruiting, training, and managing sales teams with a focus on driving performance and team development.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities; fluency in English and Twi is required.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with particular strength in PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis.
  • Promotional Expertise: Experience in planning and executing traditional and social media campaigns to enhance brand visibility.
  • Negotiation and Pricing Knowledge: Strong negotiation skills with an understanding of pricing models and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Adaptability and Problem Solving: Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
