Job Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic Key Account Officer – Modern Trade to drive the successful launch and growth of our FMCG brands into Ghana’s top modern trade outlets. This role is central to securing product listings, maximizing shelf visibility, and developing strong relationships with leading retailers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Entry & Launch Execution
- Develop and implement launch strategies into modern trade outlets.
- Secure product listings and shelf space with key retail partners.
- Negotiate listing fees, trade terms, and promotional plans.
2. Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with key decision-makers in assigned accounts.
- Conduct regular business reviews with accounts to track sales performance and resolve issues.
- Monitor stock levels, delivery schedules, and in-store merchandising execution.
3. Sales & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop account-specific sales and promotional plans to drive sell-in and sell-through.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends in the modern trade segment.
4. Merchandising & Visibility
- Work with merchandisers to ensure proper product display, pricing compliance, and promotional setup.
- Ensure product freshness and proper rotation.
- Drive in-store activations and tasting campaigns to encourage trial and repeat purchases.
5. Reporting & Insights
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and promotional effectiveness.
- Recommend adjustments to strategies based on data insights and market intelligence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in key account management within FMCG or retail distribution.
- Proven success in product launches and growth in modern trade channels.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
