Job Purpose
The Graduate Trainee –Grant Officer will support the organisation in identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing donor-funded projects in compliance with donor requirements. The role is designed as a structured learning opportunity to build practical skills in grant sourcing, proposal development, donor compliance, and reporting while contributing to the organisation’s sustainability goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Grant Sourcing & Donor Mapping
Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
Maintain an updated database of donors, funding calls, and submission deadlines.
2. Proposal Development & Budgeting
Lead the preparation of concept notes, full proposals, and logical frameworks.
Coordinate inputs from programming, M&E, and finance teams.
Ensure proposals and budgets fully comply with donor guidelines.
3.Grant Agreement & Compliance Management
Review grant agreements and ensure understanding of donor terms and conditions.
Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, reporting schedules, and deliverables.
Maintain complete grant documentation for audits and reviews.
4. Grant Implementation Support
Track grant milestones, outputs, and performance indicators.
Coordinate with program teams to ensure activities are implemented as approved.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Support M&E processes tracking grant-funded project performance.
Prepare and submit high-quality narrative and financial reports in collaboration with finance.
Address donor feedback and reporting revisions promptly.
6. Financial Coordination
Work with the finance team to monitor grant expenditures against approved budgets.
Flag budget variances, risks, and compliance issues early.
7.Donor Relationship Management
Serve as the focal point for donor communication.
Support donor visits, meetings, and audits.
Strengthen long-term donor partnerships.

Academic Qualification & Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Upper) in any of the following fields:
Development Studies
Economics
Social Sciences
Business Administration
Public Administration
Project Management
International Relations or related discipline
Must be a recent graduate (within the last 2 years) and must have completed National Service.
Strong interest in grants management, development finance, or donor-funded projects.
